I am totally taken aback. Have you ever eaten at Joe's Crab Shack? The place. Is. Disgusting. I see Chart House restaurants are part of the same group, too. I've eaten at Chart Houses in Philadelphia and New Orleans -- excellent, though without the charming ambience of the Gandy Dancer. Jeez, I sound like a restaurant critic. Well, thanks for the update. I'm never eating at the Gandy Dancer again. Except possibly for brunch on Mother's Day. :)
My last meal at the Gandy was a rip-off and a sad end to a place you used to go to get good service, good food and nice ambience. We waited 25 mn for our drinks and when we asked for our bread basket while waiting another 25 mn for our appetizers, we were told "I'll bring it out when you get your mussels" too bad we asked for the bread because we wanted it now!! The rest of the meal was mediocre and luke warm...should have figured it out when we did not need reservations and the place was empty on Thursday night.
I ate at the Joe's in Ann Arbor once and...never again! The food was not too bad but the NOISE! My goddess...people walking around whooping it up at random moments for whatever reason...we just wanted to have a nice quiet dinner.
